Chandler’s Story

It all started when I was six years old.  I completely knew that there was a void in my life.  That void was caused because of the sin in my life.  While at six years old I had not committed any outrageous crimes against humanity, the sins that I had committed were enough to separate me from the Creator of the Universe.  It was explained to me that Christ was the only thing that could make that void go away.  So, when I was six years old, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I went through middle and half of high school as the good kid.  The decision I had made was sincere and I understood what it meant to be a Christian.  However, I had not fully surrendered to the Lordship of Christ.  That event occurred when I was sixteen years old.  I went on a mission trip to Russia and it radically changed my outlook concerning my relationship with Christ.  From that moment on, I took my walk with Christ a lot more seriously and I strived to be like Him.  It was on that trip to Russia that I began to feel God’s call to ministry on my life.  I surrendered to that calling.  I went through life from that point, understanding who I was in Christ and working within my call to ministry.  Then when I was a senior in high school, I felt God’s specific call to International Missions.  This was a very difficult calling to accept.  Why would God call someone like me to carry His message to the nations?  But I realized through Paul’s life that God calls those that are not ready to do His work so that He may ultimately be glorified in the work that He does through my life.
